Honoring Carmen Hijosa Hijosa is the inventor of Pinatex. A leather like product made from discarded pineapple leaves. Her system is eco-friendly and sustainable. Made in the Philippines, the three step process: SUNLIGHT- VACUUM-SOLAR HEAT ( orange - blue - red ) this results in a leather substitute used by companies such as Puma to make various commercial products.
