"For Babies" |
Dr. Virginia Apgar (1909-1974) was an American doctor and first female Professor at Columbia university of physicians and surgeons. In 1952, she developed a quick and clear way to assess the health of a newborn baby, using an acronym of her name: A appearance, P pulse, G grimace , A activity and R respiration, the APGAR score. Oil paintings of baby rubber duckies represent new life. Letters APGAR appear above the left upper section of each panel. White on white textural paint can only be seen in person.
